Weeknotes Week 15 2024: April 7-13
- This was supposed to be a quieter week, but it wasn't. Meetings galore anyway.
- I continued to work on refining a Linux Mint VHF gateway installation and did a write-up of the experience. I think I was successful, and we'll see if it's stable.
- Training at the dojang was more lively than previous weeks with the return of several students we thought had quit. That was refreshing.
- The focus this week was on spinning moves such as high-spin kicks and back kicks. This is an area I need am not good at and need a lot of practice in.
- The website got revamped and now I'm the face of the Adult Classes for some reason.
- On Saturday morning I embarked upon some woodworking in earnest for the first time. I resolved through gradual acquisition of tools and wood pieces to build my wife an under-bed drawer to stow some overflow items.
- As with any new building effort, this proved to be marked with frustration, sweat, and a wee bit of cursing.
- Pocket hole joinery is supposed to be easy, but not when you select hardwood that likes to scoot when you start drilling it.
- I ended up incorrectly estimating height with the ball-bearing casters, and so the first creation is too tall by about a quarter inch. I have ordered lower tiny casters.
